WYCC Swim Team Subcommittees

If you are interested in joining a committee or volunteering for the Sea Turtles please contact one of the swim team committee members.

Activities: We would like to have a planned activity during morning practice before each home swim meet. In the past, activities have included spirit shakers, car streamers, turtle posters, spirit necklaces, etc. A few parents normally provide a small snack during the activity as well.

Administration: This committee will compile and distribute the Sea Turtles Handbook. In addition, they will coordinate advertisements for mini meet and city meet heat sheets and coordinate swim team pictures. We would also like this committee to coordinate team and pool records.

Awards: We would like to have one or two people coordinate the awards and/or trophies that will be handed out at the banquet. We would also like to see this committee select the team ribbons as well as coordinate the goodie bags placed on the doorsteps of our swimmers. The goodie bags are traditionally left at night before a big event. We have traditionally provided goodie bags for all our swimmers before the first meet, for our swimmers in the mini meet and for our swimmers in city meet. A group of parents volunteers are needed to help distribute the goodie bags.

Banquet: This committee meets throughout the season to plan an end of season banquet for our swimmers and their families. The committee works on everything from decorations, fun give-aways, invitations, menu, etc. This is a much anticipated event for our swimmers. The Silent Auction is also held during the banquet.

Fundraising: The fundraising committee will work on acquiring and selling spirit items, scheduling our restaurant spirit nights, coordinating the silent auction and any additional fundraising events that are held to support the WYCC Sea Turtles Swim Team.

Hospitality: The hospitality committee will coordinate food and drink concessions for WYCC home meets. In addition, WYCC is responsible for the Hospitality Room at City Meet. This committee will help coordinate that effort as well.

Photographers: We would like to have a group of people take pictures at the various swim team events and meets. This group will work together to compile a season DVD that will be shown at the Banquet. The swim team committee would like the DVD to be available for the swim team families. We would also like to have some of the pictures available for the WYCC Newsletter, Anchor Lines, and the WYCC website. In addition, this group would work with parents of our graduating seniors to add a short photo tribute on the season DVD.

Volunteers: This committee will coordinate volunteers and officials at the various home and away meets throughout the season. The official jobs most needed to be filled are stroke and turn judges, timers, ribbon writers, and runners.
